BEDFORD PA – After snapping at a White House Press Conference yesterday (details here) President Obama took off in his car Monday afternoon to “go think right now.” The President failed to return home on Monday, and it was unknown where he was until being spotted at 3:30 a.m. this morning drinking a cup of coffee at “Kevin’s Roadside Diner.”
The overnight wait staff was surprised to see the President come in, as they described his mood as being very contemplative and not very sociable.
“First of all, we’re really just used to drunks and truck drivers in the middle of the night, so him being here was surprising” said waitress Shelly Kingsman. “But he wasn’t really talkative when I tried to go over our specials with him. He just ordered a cup of coffee.”
Eyewitness accounts by other patrons at the diner confirmed that the President sat there ordering refills of coffee for about two hours, all the while staring out the window and seeming distant.
Kingsman finally closed the President’s tab at 5:30 a.m. “He paid and asked me if there was any good place to watch a sunrise around here. I told him to go to Shawnee Park.”
It is unknown by any of the diner patrons or wait staff if the President took Kingsman’s advice.
