Just two games into the 2013 Major League Baseball season, Kansas City Royals fans have already given up on their team’s chances of success for the season. All hope of baseball success for Kansas City was officially lost in the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday’s game at the Chicago White Sox, when Chicago’s Dayan Viciedo deposited a two run homerun into the left field bullpen.
Despite the fact that hope was lost in the second game, many Royals fans were thrilled that their team gave them hope this long, as most Kansas City fans typically lose all hope before the season begins.
“It was a fun ride” said Royals season ticket holder Jeffrey Nuvella. “We were able to hold out and believe for 12 innings this year. It’s unfortunate that the ride has come to an end, but there’s always next year to look forward to.”
Kansas City sports fans will now follow the yearly tradition of transferring all their hopes to the Kansas City Chiefs, who will disappoint and shatter those expectations in the third quarter of their first preseason game.
