“This kid has shown time and time again that he isn’t ready for the lunchroom. He should still be sitting at the kindergartener’s table. It was a mistake for this kid to get the call to first grade when he goes out and makes boneheaded moves like this” the outraged Smith said on air.
The trade occurred last Friday during lunch at Stewart’s elementary school. As lunch was winding down, fellow first grader Nick Dessinger attempted to get Stewart to give him his two Yodels in exchange for being his best friends. Stewart then countered by offering to trade the Yodels for Dessinger’s cupcake and one dessert of his choice at a future lunch. Dessinger refused to make the trade for anything more than his cupcake.
With the trade deadline approaching as recess neared, Stewart caved and took the trade for only a cupcake in a move that Stephen A. Smith called “cowardly.”
“How do you trade a fan favorite dessert like Yodels for a single cupcake? You draw your line in the sand and refuse to make a trade like that. That organization got fleeced. It’s time for the Stewart family to say goodbye to Grady and move on.”
At press time Grady Stewart’s parents have refused to speculate on his future with the family, simply referring to him as “our son at present time.”
